While participating as a Master Balloon Designer in the Balloon Couture show in Las Vegas (August 17, 2009), NBC's Today Show television crew was on-site to do a feature on the balloon industry (focus was on Ms. Debbie Stevens).  Ed was also filmed at the event; while his segment did not make it to the live broadcast, it did make it on the web-only version of the Today Show on September 1, 2009.

On Thursday, August 13, 2009 in Las Vegas, NV, Ed made world record attempts in two categories, succeeding in gaining a share of the world record in one category.  He was the only artist to make both attempts; all other artists focused on making attempts in a single category.  Pending certification, Ed will share the title of world record holder with Melissa Contildes in the "Most buttercup flowers in 30 minutes using a hand pump" category.

Ed was invited to create three balloon outfits for the singing group "D-Lite" on the top rated ASAP 09 variety show in the Philippines.  Assisted by local artists Jing and Charise, the three outfits were completed just in time for the group's appearance on live broadcast May 24, 2009 on the ABS-CBN network across the Philippines, and globally on the Filipino Network (satellite/cable).

The group D-Lite is comprised of three wonderful artists... Karylle, Toni Gonzaga, and Niki Gil.
